Artwork Description – I LOVE YOU TOO!

The painting I love you too! explores the rhythm of modern life, where moments feel meaningful only when we capture them and share them.
The main protagonists — the anime girl in the train and an astronaut — take a selfie, emphasizing today’s urge to freeze time, document the moment, post it instantly on social media, and then rush forward through life just like the speeding train in the artwork.

The second perspective line, designed as a film strip, questions different human relationships, including war and peace — soldiers stand on colorful pillows and, together with a banana, raise a flag painted with a heart.

In the next frame, Superman appears, but shown without any superpowers — reduced to the level of an ordinary man who confusedly rows along the street, losing his childhood toys, and even Batman’s lifesaving belt.

As a contrast to Superman, the third perspective line of colorful railway tracks features a completely ordinary man — a real railway worker from Oslo — who becomes incredibly significant within the artwork, almost like a true superhero.

Butterflies above the central composition, with symbolic patterns and subtle red LED lighting behind them, further highlight themes of change, relationships, and the fragility of life, while the red background glows with added intensity.

In the last window of the train stands Tweety, holding a blue heart-shaped balloon with the message “I love you too” — which is both the name of the painting and the heartfelt message it sends.

About the artist

Danijel Jaman (Split, 1975) is a contemporary Croatian artist and the founder of an artistic direction he calls “New Pop Art.” He graduated from the Academy of Arts in Split, where he received the Dean’s Award as one of the most distinguished students of his generation.

His work is recognizable for its strong visual energy, vibrant colors and a distinctive approach to pop art. Key characteristics of Jaman’s style include:
