Rap butterfly by Jaman Art

About the product

The Rap Butterfly, inspired by the gangsta style, appears tough at the first sight – with his gang-style necklace and a NY Yankees hat (which are symbols of pop art and culture), but there is something very soft and touching about him as well. The graffiti on his wings are actual love messages people leave on the wall of Juliette’s house in Verona. Insight into his soul reveals the romantic, which is clearly alluded to by the connection with this eternal Shakespeare's work.  Simply put, in this butterfly we see tough, gangster-style guy with a romantic soul.

About the artist

Danijel Jaman is an artist who represents a new direction called "New Pop Art".

He was born in 1975 in Split, Croatia, where he graduated from the Academy of Arts in Split, where he was awarded the Dean's Award as one of the best students.

His paintings reflect a distinct recognition and characteristics of the style, and as the most prominent we can single out:

1. Extremely bright colors in large color ranges and contrasts.

2. Almost all paintings are painted beyond the frame and thus create an additional 3D illusion in the space.

3. Almost all paintings include the BANANA motif as the author's signature. Banana is a kind of self-portrait where the author humorously becomes a participant in the painting and in this way gives a review, critique of the main idea of the painting.

Jaman also plays in his paintings by inserting real 3D elements that become an integral part of the composition of the painting. So in the paintings, we can find license plates, vinyl scratches, brushes, chess pieces, coins, phones, cell phones, Swarovski crystals.

In the last series of paintings, he went a step further and began to implement lighting in paintings as a continuation of creating color gradations of color such as paintings: "New York", "Charlie", "I love you too", "Bang Bang". Where color ends its journey as a natural continuation, lighting of different colors has imposed itself.

Jaman's paintings have become an inspiration to many people to play with colors in their interiors.

His paintings are in numerous private collections around the world.
